The Finding Empowerment Project - Anna-Marie Watson, Ultra Runner.
Danielle Sellwood // 25 October 2018
Anna-Marie Watson is one of the UK's leading ultra runners, she is currently ranked 7th in the Ultra Trail World Tour Annual Women's Rankings and has won both the Half Marathon des Sables (2017) and the Salomon Cappadocia Ultra (2016). She has also completed the full Marathon Des Sables twice, finishing 2nd and 5th (2015, 2018). Aside from ultra running, Anna-Marie also competes in triathlon, most notably at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships (2013, 2014 & 2018).
In this short film she looks back on her first event 10 years ago and shares her thoughts on why she runs and what it brings to her life.
At Find It Film our mission is to use film to inspire, encourage and showcase women and girls as role models in the pursuit of getting more people active in sport and outdoor adventure. So it matters to us that we understand more about this idea of ‘empowerment’, directly through the experiences and stories of women and girls, so we’re on a journey to research, talk to, film, blog and generally explore and record these experiences and views.
