Maverick Generation is a long term project in collaboration with Alex Rotas and supported by Independent Age. The project, and resulting full length documentary will follow the lives of Masters Athletes between the ages of 47 and 83 as they train to compete in international competitions. We'll explore what motivates these women to keep training and competing at such a high level, we'll meet their families, friends, coaches, and club mates to show the highs and lows, as they defy societal expectations and challenge negative stereotypes of ageing.

about Independent Age:
Whatever happens as we get older, we all want to remain independent and live life on our own terms. That’s why, as well as offering regular friendly contact and a strong campaigning voice, Independent Age can provide you and your family with clear, free and impartial advice on the issues that matter: care and support, money and benefits, health and mobility.
A charity founded over 150 years ago, we’re independent so you can be.
Follow the project:
We have a dedicated instagram feed @maverickgeneration that will be sharing behind the scenes clips, more information on the athletes and all the latest news. You can also join in with the community of Masters Athletes and follow the progress of the film on Facebook at @AlexRotasPhotography.
